Lighting, integrated with architecture, highlights materials and cultural elements while meeting Washington State Ferries' stringent security requirements and achieving LEED Gold Certification.

Uplighting in the lobby highlights the warmth of the wood ceiling and reinforces the building's longhouse form - a recognition of the site's significance to the Coast Salish people. All of this was achieved with a strong contribution to the project's sustainability goals through very low energy consumption and daylight integration.

Together with a waterfront promenade that connects the terminal to downtown Mukilteo, and lighting designed to preserve views to the west, this project creates meaningful connections to the water and sets the stage for future growth on the Mukilteo-Clinton route.
